Dr. Nishi Patel was born and raised in Maryland where she earned her undergraduate degree in B.S. Biology at the University of Maryland, College Park. She was inspired to pursue dentistry through a letter- a letter that she wrote to her Guru, Pramukh Swami Maharaj. This letter had three options for her future career and the fate of her future. She received guidance from her Guru to pursue dentistry so she “could help all those with oral pain.” Thus, began her journey at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry where she received her DDS in 2014. Upon which, she completed her General Practice Residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. Since then, she has practiced as an associate dentist, and truly enjoyed the ability to change peoples lives by making them smile and eliminating their pain. She continues to educate herself to enhance her knowledge of dentistry, and in the future, hopes to spend more time providing dental care to the rural villages in various third-world countries.
In her time outside of work, she is actively involved with the Bochasanwasi Shri Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS). BAPS is a socio-spiritual Hindu organization where she acts at the Regional Coordinator Lead for the Northeast Region. She actively mentors and guide team members who, together, mentor and guide high school and college aged females in s their spiritual, social, educational, and familial lives. She takes much pride in the opportunity to volunteer for this organization knowing that she is able to make a large impact on these young women she comes in contact with. If she is not working or busy with her volunteering, she spends time traveling various places around the world, reading a book by the water or the fireplace, or baking.
